Educated at the Royal Masonic Schools for Boys in Bushey Hertfordshire I have stumbled through five decades of life before retiring to the Turkish mountains where I continue to spend the sixth.
The world is currently in the Time of Corona and we, that is I and my wife Kim, are restricted to the house. Evde Hayat Var as the Turkish Government has it.
So whilst The Novel crawls along (I WILL finish it this year!!) I have opened up a second writing front; this blog.
I write to entertain – you not me. It’s effing hard work. I also sprinkle in a little social comment garnered from my soon to be 70 years of chaos, confusion and the occasional result.
Hopefully it is helping me make sense of it.
We are, after all, stardust

I love your view on life. We have subscribed. We bought a house in Kalkan in October… we haven’t yet set foot in it since we have owned it. We therefore sit in our English home in lockdown longing for a time when we can visit Turkey and begin to build a life before retirement- we have a few years yet. Looking forward to reading your blog and enjoy your writing style. Thank you.
I just loved your article, Chris. I hope we will bump into you in Kalkan one day.
What a great name you have!
Hi Chris.
I have just come across the excellent blog you wrote about illegal construction in Kalkan and Islamlar. Have you updated it recently?
Is there a way I can contact you directly with concerns around a villa we own?
Sorry I did not see this. I have emailed you Rob
